Course Description

Training provided by Asset Training (RTO No. 91255)

Units of Competency

  • NWPNET037 – Inspect Sewer or Stormwater Assets (previously NPWNET016)
  • NWPNET059 – Supervise and Report on Conduit Inspections (replaces NWPNET017)

Brief outline of training
CCTV Conduit Inspector training provides students with the knowledge and skills expected of a qualified CCTV operator or supervisor undertaking conduit inspections and reporting on the condition of conduits in Australia.

A student will be fully exposed to the Conduit Inspection Reporting Code of Australia WSA05 given an introduction to conduit inspection software and shown how to perform a thorough CCTV conduit inspection and prepare associated conduit condition reports.

Who should attend this training
CCTV Field Manager/Operator who requires the highest understanding of the sewer and stormwater conduit inspection process.

Any person who is responsible for inspecting or reporting on, or is associated with conduit/asset management, inspection or construction.

Pre-requisites
There are no unit of competency pre-requisites for this course however it is strongly recommended that candidates wishing to undertake this course should have a minimum of 3 months experience working under the supervision of a competent operator and have already undertaken a White Card GIT, Confined Space Entry and Traffic Control courses or plan to do so before undertaking CCTV conduit inspection training.

Recognition or prior learning
Asset Training recognises work & life experience and previous training for the RPL process.

Applications for recognition of prior learning should be made via the online enrolment form.

Assessment
Assessment will consist of a multiple choice assessment paper and question and answers during the course. There will also be practical observation of various job tasks as evidence of competence. Upon successful completion of the conduit inspection training course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

Important information
Students are requested to arrive on time so a prompt commencement can be achieved.

The length of time taken to complete this course will vary, depending on factors such as the teaching method, knowledge and skills of the learner at entry and the individual learners ability.

If required, a third party report may be used together with a workplace assignment of three survey reports of at least two different types of conduit materials. This is used to validate that the student has applied the necessary performance and knowledge over a time period to establish their on-the-job competence.
