SECA Newsletter – January 2026
Welcome to 2026
Hi Everyone
Reactive sewer maintenance has long been accepted as “part of the job” for councils and water authorities. But after years of working closely with asset managers, it’s clear this approach carries hidden costs, draining budgets, increasing risk, and limiting long-term planning.
Today, better inspection technology and data are giving organisations a real opportunity to break that cycle. The most progressive authorities are shifting from reactive response to informed, strategic decision-making and seeing measurable gains as a result.
This article explores why that shift matters, and how councils are making it happen.
Warm regards

WELCOME TO THE TEAM!
We talk a lot about teamwork at SECA – and sometimes that team gets a bit smaller (and louder 👶).
At our End of Year party, we gave SECA onesies to our new mums to celebrate some big life moments.
Kristel and Hugh welcomed a baby boy – our first SECA baby – and Helen and her husband welcomed a baby girl, making her family three generations strong at SECA.
Congrats to both families. Proof that SECA really is built for the long haul

Breaking the reactive cycle
Why technology adoption is now the real driver of wastewater and asset network performance
Are you constantly responding to breakdowns, delays and last-minute fixes instead of staying ahead of the work? Reactive operations can quietly drain productivity, increase costs and place unnecessary pressure on crews and projects.
In our latest blog, we explore how contractors and councils can break this cycle by shifting to a more proactive, planned approach — supported by the right systems, equipment strategy and expert support.
