What is the difference between ring and spiral profiling?

Ring profiling projects a stationary laser ring onto the pipe wall. Spiral profiling (used by the RCX100) uses rotating lasers and camera motion to scan the pipe in a continuous spiral. Spiral profiling is typically faster, does not require stopping the crawler, gives more complete coverage and needs no ring attachment or calibration. Ring lasers can still suit small diameter pipes.
